First Birthday

First Birthday

My blog is one year old. ONE YEAR OLD. I can’t believe that I’m saying that. Where has that last year gone? How quickly has my blog's first birthday come along?

When I decided to set up my blog, it was because I felt I had something to say to inspire other people. I wanted them to be thankful for all they had, to make the most out of life, not take people and opportunities for granted.

I hope that those who are reading this post have felt a little bit inspired to try new things, be braver or just love their life a little bit more.

What I actually got was a lot more than I bargained for.

My friends and family have been really supportive, liking and sharing my posts on social media. People I work with, saying they tried out a recipe or read a post I have written. Encouraging me to write more, telling me what they want to read. Congratulating me on various milestones I have achieved as my blog has grown.

I also found myself part of a community of bloggers who are amazing. They are kind to each other, encouraging, helpful, supportive and entrepreneurial.

First Birthday

Every day, I find myself being drawn into other bloggers’ wonderful websites, reading what they’ve been up to, where they’ve been, what they’ve cooked, created or just finding myself agreeing with their words of wisdom. It’s been eye-opening and so wonderful.

In my own life, I now further appreciate all the wonderful things I see and do, the places I go, the people I meet, the opportunities that I have through both my day-to-day job and also those that have sprung out of blogging. I think it’s easy to go about your everyday life and not really value what it is your doing or the people you spend your time with. It’s made me look at everything differently and really cherish those people, those moments. I probably sound a bit gushy, but I can’t help it. I set out to inspire others to love life more and I found that I could too.

If I’d have known how much of a lovely journey year one of blogging would have taken me on, I probably would have done this years ago.

As the new year rolls around and my blog goes into its second year of life, I wonder what this year will bring. But in true Life Loving spirit, I shout with my arms outstretched ‘bring it on!’.

First Birthday

A big thank you goes out to everyone who popped by, read a post, left a comment, shared or liked on social media or even just made a passing comment, in person. You don’t know how much that means to me. My blog's first birthday is very happy one, because of you all.

Thanks for such lovely comments Nikki. I too enjoy coming by your blog and seeing what you are up to. Your blog has been a great find and one of my highlights. I can't wait to see more in 2016. Thanks for joining in the ride with me in the last year.

  3. Happy blog birthday! I'm definitely glad I recently found your blog! 🙂 I think it's so cool your family, friends and co-workers are so supportive. I tend to keep my blogging very private so I don't have that same support.

Thanks Erin. That's really kind of you to say. I know a lot of people do keep their blogging private, I can understand that. Us bloggers are always there for each other though, so that's as nice!

That'll come round so quickly Laura. I remember when I was just one or two posts in and now I'm a whole year under my belt. Your blog is great, I really enjoy reading it. Don't worry I think we all feel like we are winging it!

  5. Hello Sally congratulations on your blogaversary. Such an achievement. Mine is in February. What I have loved is how supportive and friendly other bloggers have been. I've met some lovely people as indeed you have. Isn't it wonderful for you when you aren't sure if you are doing the right thing and then someone leaves a positive comment. It makes it all worthwhile. Here's to another happy and successful year of blogging for you!

  6. Happy blogiversary! Mine was a month ago and I felt exactly the same way in that I couldn't believe how quickly the time had gone and also how many lovely bloggers I've met along the way! My friends and family aren't particularly interested in my blog, so it was a real bonus to discover so many wonderful women online. Happy birthday and may it be the first of many more x

    • Sally Sally says:

Ooh! Happy blogiversary to you too then Leanne. That's a shame you friends and family aren't that interested but like you say you can get support from elsewhere. I love reading your blog and feel inspired by your posts.
