Lime Orange Victoria
I was working in London a couple of weeks back and decided to meet up with a friend to catch up over a bite to eat. Knowing that both our trains would depart from Victoria, we decided to pick somewhere close by to the station. After a bit of research I came across Lime Orange, Victoria. It positions its self as a Korean restaurant with a touch of Japanese. My friend was really pleased with the choice, having not long returned from Asia but not eaten Korean food, she was in the mood for it.
The actual building is quite tiny and you could easily walk past without taking much notice – it’s quite unassuming. But we found it easily and grabbed a table for two. It smelled delicious on entering and our tummies were rumbling.
I decided to go for the Chicken Bibimbap, which is a steamed rice dish with seven vegetables, an egg and some chicken. The bibimbap option at Lime Orange comes with a Miso soup on the side. I’ll be honest and say I really don’t like Miso soup, so if it were to go again, I would get them to hold the Miso.
My friend went for the Beef Bulgogi, which is beef marinated in soy and fruits and she ordered a side of rice to go with this.
Both dishes came out quickly and were well presented. Our waiter was lovely, checking whether we’d had the dishes before and explaining that when you eat bibimbap, you pick and mix the elements as you eat them.
The dishes at Lime Orange were absolutely delicious and sated both our appetites for food and more importantly Korean food in general.
I’d picked Lime Orange, Victoria as it had very good reviews online and also because of the location. We were not disappointed.
The two meals, plus a couple of soft drinks came to just under £30, which is really reasonable for London and for the quality of the food and service.
On returning home, my husband asked where we went and was disappointed to have missed out, so I’m sure we’ll be back so he can get his Korean fix too!
If you are looking for some delicious Korean food, look up Lime Orange in Victoria. They are located on Vauxhall Bridge Road.
