London Cocktail Week

The Scottish Invasion

London Cocktail Week runs 5th – 11th October in 2015. I’m looking forward to attending the ‘Scottish Invasion’ at Mussel Men restaurant, in Dalston during the week.  This is where the best drinks from Scotland’s distilleries will be showcased and I can’t wait to see what’s on offer.

Dubbed ‘Cocktail Sally’ by some of my close friends. I have been known to knock up a tasty cocktail or two at a party. I’m also owner to a light up cocktail fountain (straight out of the 80s, I am), which has made an appearance at a party of two in its time, so this is right up my street.

Mussel Men will be a stop off point during the Cocktail Tours and guests with London Cocktail Week wristbands will enjoy these cocktails at a discounted rate of £5.

They’ll be lots on offer, including a different feature drink every day, tastings, competitions, masterclasses, music plus guest speakers and bartender takeovers.

I’ll be attending the ‘History of Scottish Drinks in 90 minutes' which is one of their masterclasses. It has been described as Horrible Histories meets Top Gear, but for booze. Sounds like a brilliant night out if you ask me.

They are also running an Ogilvy Bloody Mary Competition, for which there’s a chance to win a trip to the Ogilvy Distillery plus an overnight stay in a boutique hotel as well as many other events during the week. The Bowmore and Oyster Masterclass with Mixx-it bar trainer Amanda Humphrey and Robin 'Captain Bob' Dunlop from Mussel Men looks pretty amazing too.

Have a look at the schedule and book one of these fantastic events today. Don’t forget to pop back, I’ll be sharing my photos and experiences of the event.

I know. It might be a bit tacky, but it's really pretty. A friend bought it for me when I bought my first house. What a great present for a 20 something with a house eh? It's seen a few house parties.
