I love the look and feel of slate homewares. Who doesn’t? It’s lovely to go to restaurant and be served a meal on slate. It’s also nice to be able to buy items that will dress up your kitchen and living spaces that will complete the look you are going for.

I have a roundup of some of my favourite slate items that you can buy. Plus also an exciting competition to win yourself a natural slate heart-shaped memo board, which was hand cut in Scotland.

One of my favourite items is this set of six mini slate cheese boards. They are perfect if you are having guests round and there will be a cheese course.

Another great items for a dinner party is this heart shaped serving platter. Perfect if you are serving food you love… Sorry cheesy and I know it.

Slate Serving Platter

This great serving platter says it’s for tapas or cheese. I think it would look just as fabulous serving mini cakes or pastries.

Slate Cake Stand

If you are looking to serve tapas or appetisers, then serving them off this slate tray would be ideal. Whether you are handing them round or popping the tray on the side for people to help themselves, it would look great either way.

Slate Tray

Into the kitchen or study now. This chalkboard would be idea for keeping track of what you’ve got to do or even perhaps you menu for the week. Either way it would look fabulous hanging on the wall.

Slate Chalkboard

This slate meze set is ideal once again for entertaining. You could either fill it with olives and sundried tomatoes or perhaps it would be the perfect presentation for a variety of dips.

Slate Meze Set

I love these round placemats. You see the square ones more regularly, so if you fancy something a little different to adorn your dinner table, these placemats are for you.

Round Slate Placemats

And if you are more traditional, you should go for the rectangular placemats as they too look stunning.

Rectangular Slate Placemats

What’s a set of placemats without coasters? Take a look at these gorgeous slate coasters. I guarantee that no one will be leaving ring marks on your coffee table.

Slate Coasters

Finally to round things off with an item usually used to start a meal, an oil and vinegar dipping set would start any dining occasion off with a bang.

Slate Oil and Vinegar Dipping Set

Which of these are your favourites? I’m such a fan of the mini cheese boards.

Competition Time

Now closed – congratulations go to our winner, Catherine from Blackpool.
