Sunshine Blogger Award

Sunshine Blogger Award

I have been called Sally Sunshine on many occasions as I’m always smiley and happy. It seems extra appropriate today as I have been nominated for The Sunshine Blogger Award by my good friend over at Quirky Little Planet. I think this is a nice way to share some of my thoughts and feelings and I hope to pass on the rays of happiness.

For those who don’t know, here’s the rules –

You acknowledge and thank the nominating blogger with a link to their website and then answer the questions the nominating blogger has created for you.

You then must list 11 bloggers you believe deserve some recognition and a little blogging love! (You can’t nominate the blogger who nominated you.) Let the 11 bloggers know that you have nominated them.

Post 11 questions for the bloggers you nominate to answer.

Here’s the answers to the questions I have been asked –

Who or what inspires you?
I take my motivations from so many sources. I’m a person who can see the good traits in people and work hard to adopt those to make myself a better person. I don’t think my drive comes from one person, but I do have my parents and my siblings to thank for a lot of things as they have helped shape so much of what I am fortunate to have today.

When you were a child, what did you want to be when you grew up?
So many things. Growing up I wanted to be a florist, then an actress. I eventually settled on a career in marketing and I can honestly say I’m really do love what I do (well most days anyway).

If you could be an animal, what would you be?
I would like to be a giraffe. They are such beautiful creatures and I love the elegance of them.

If you could take a trip tomorrow, anywhere in the world, where would you go?
Just one? There’s so many places. I think I would hop on a plane and go to Iceland. I’ve always wanted to see the Northern Lights, I can’t wait to go one day.

City, country or coast?
It depends on my mood, but I love all three. If I have to pick one, it probably would be the coast.

Introvert or Extrovert?

What are your favourite movies?
I’m not a big movie watcher (I generally only have the attention span of around 40 minutes) but if I have to pick a few it would be the following –

The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
Despicable Me
Legally Blonde
Les Miserables

If you could have a super power, what would it be?
Teleporting. I find travelling a waste of time and am always impatient sitting on a train or waiting in traffic.

What is your guilty pleasure?
Cheese and crackers. Especially with chutney or pickle

What do you like most about blogging?
I love writing, I love photography, I love social media, I love SEO and I love reading other blogs. What’s not to love?

If you could trade places with anyone for a day, who would it be and why?
If it’s just for a day, I’d probably trade with someone famous who gets to go on the F1 grid in Monaco. That’s an experience that only a lot of money can buy (and I’ll never be that rich or famous).

I’m going to nominate the following 11 bloggers

Cornish Mum
Gym Bunny Mummy
Cuddle Fairy
Mari’s World
Wit Wit Woo
Fizzy Peaches
Emily Luxton
A Bavarian Sojourn
Bruised Passports
Tales From The Kitchen Shed
The Crazy Kitchen

And here’s my questions –

  1. What would be your dream job?
  2. Tea or coffee?
  3. What’s your favourite song?
  4. Who inspires you?
  5. What’s your favourite ever board game?
  6. Where in the world would you most like to travel to?
  7. What’s the dish you are best at cooking at?
  8. Theatre or cinema?
  9. Do you prefer spring or autumn?
  10. What is your favourite ever book?
  11. Describe your dream date night/day.

I can’t wait to read your responses.

Aww, bless you! I guess you didn’t become one either? One of my closest friends is a florist and I think seeing how talented she is at it and how passionate she is, it’s probably good I never fulfilled that dream, I don’t think any of my floral creations would match up to hers!

  1. I saw the Northern Lights once when we lived in Denmark. I stopped to watch them while on my way to catch a train somewhere. Sadly, because I was on my own and had no camera/phone with me at the time, no-one ever believed me! 😀 Thanks so much for nominating me, that’s really kind of you! 🙂

I’m so glad that the sunshine has been spread over to you. I love following what you are cooking up at your blog and I look forward to seeing your answers.

  2. I love these awards, they were very popular years back and died out as brands and ‘work’ took over blogs. Thank you for thinking of me and adding me to your list, I am going to look forward to writing this blog. 🙂

I’m looking forward to reading it. Yes it takes me back to a chain letter from my youth. I’m glad I’ve been able to bring it back for you.
