5 Ways to Revamp Your Garden

As Spring isn’t far away, now is a good time to think about how to revamp your garden.

If you are on a budget, there’s plenty of ideas out there which don’t cost the earth, which will make your garden look like a million dollars. I’ve also got some great craft ideas which you can have a look at, which will give your garden some personality.

Invest in Garden Furniture

This is a key feature of a garden. If you’ve spent time and money on getting your garden looking lovely, you’ll want to spend time actually out in your garden enjoying it.

You can pick up a small bistro table and chair set quite cheaply these days or if you want to personalise your furniture, why not get yourself a second-hand wooden set and upcycle it yourself as I did.

Alfresco dining is one of my favourite things about summer. And whether that’s whipping up a few bits on the BBQ or cooking indoors and eating out, the choice is yours. You could also look at getting a hot tub. Even if you’ve only got a small outdoor space, there are lots of options for smaller hot tubs.

Weed and Declutter

One of the most cost-effective ways of revamping your garden is to have a jolly good clear out. Cut back the weeds, overgrown bushes and trees, mow the grass and tidy up the borders. Need some help with overgrown or dangerous trees? Why not hire an expert like Thor’s Trees? If you are using your garden (or garden shed) as a bit of a dumping ground, look into skip hire and go through all the bits and pieces you are keeping. Throw away old broken garden furniture that can’t be fixed, put all your green waste in your garden recycling bin and just have a declutter. Even if you don’t have enough to fill a whole skip, you could look into small skips. It’s probably much more efficient than running your car to and from the local tip. Your garden will look a million times better for it.

Light it Up

The days will take a while to get longer, so why not get some lighting in your garden. That way you can enjoy sitting out when dusk sets in. You could put some wall lights in or if you have decking, you could look at some floor lights. They give a really nice finish. Take a look at some of the different choices available of practical outdoor led lighting. What would you choose?

Add Some Colour

Adding plants to your garden will help it look beautiful all year round. You could choose flowers which bloom at different times to ensure you cover all bases throughout Spring and Summer. Add Storage

If you haven’t got anywhere to store garden cushions, your lawnmower or any other garden bits and pieces, why not add some storage in the form of a shed or garden storage box? You may need to create a concrete base for your shed, but that’s easy enough to do. Have a look at the advice about laying concrete from the experts. They have lots different types of concrete for many uses, so if you aren’t sure, have a look at their website or give them a call.

Indulge in Some Luxury

Whilst you’re revamping your garden, you should always be on the lookout for ways to add a touch of luxury to your space. Indulging in some timeless garden elements to help you unwind and relax after a busy day would be the ideal additions for your new and improved outdoor space. You may want to head to a local hot tub showroom to see if any styles and designs would work well in your back garden. Having a hot tub in your garden is the ideal way to raise the levels of sophistication outside your home, not to mention it’s a great party element if you regularly like to host friends and family!

Finishing Touches

There are lots of lovely decorative items which you can add to your garden to give it a finishing touch. Candles in nice holders, mirrors, cushions, throws and statues. I made these mosaic mushrooms to go into my garden, but you could also mosaic a number of other items, like plant pots, mirrors or even a tabletop, and this will really make your garden stand out. Wind chimes and sparkly spinners are a firm favourite amongst garden decorators – even if your neighbours don’t agree.
