What attracted you to Zurich, and why did you choose this city to open your beauty salon?

This city captivated me with its elegance and tranquillity, combined with its openness to new ideas and growth. Zurich has a unique atmosphere – it blends a cosmopolitan lifestyle with closeness to nature, which fosters a holistic approach to health and beauty that is so dear to me. I meet many people here who care about both their bodies and inner peace. This environment creates ideal conditions for realizing my vision of a space where I can fully take care of my clients.

My previous work in the hospitality industry taught me to manage a business and take care of customers. However, over time, I felt the need for something more – closer, more personal contact. The decision to open a salon had been maturing in me for years. It is a realization of my passions. It’s not just about enhancing clients’ appearance but also improving their well-being, health, and inner harmony. These aspects give me immense satisfaction. Moving to Zurich marked a new chapter, and opening the salon was a natural next step – the realization of my vision.

How does the minimalist design of your salon affect the atmosphere and clients’ experience during their visit?

The minimalist design allows for a clear and functional space. Limiting decorative elements helps focus on the purpose of the visit and reduces unnecessary stimuli. The subdued colours and natural materials create a sense of harmony and calm. The space looks clean and well-kept. The lighting is subtle and adapted to the needs. This interior arrangement creates an environment conducive to relaxation, free from excessive decorations and unnecessary details. Clients often say that when they enter the salon, they feel a sense of peace. I want each visit to be not just an aesthetic treatment but also a moment of relaxation and renewal. Hence the name of the salon, “Comfort Zone by JOP.”

What stages in your education and professional development played the most crucial role in your path to specializing in aesthetic medicine?

It began with medical cosmetology studies, which provided me with solid theoretical knowledge. Then came advanced courses – in both invasive and non-invasive techniques. Practising alongside experienced specialists was significant, allowing me to gain skills in real-life conditions. Today, I continuously participate in conferences and workshops to stay updated on new methods and standards. It’s an ongoing process that requires consistent effort and openness to changes in the industry.

How do you build long-term relationships with clients?

Clients come with various expectations and concerns, so it’s essential they feel truly heard. Building relationships begins at the first conversation, where I get to know their motivations and goals. I strive for everyone to feel at ease – so that visits are not just a formality but a valuable experience.

Small gestures are also key in building connections. I often ask about their everyday matters, interests, and plans, which makes conversations more natural. I want them to feel that their story is important here, that every detail of their life matters in the context of our shared work. This builds a relationship based on mutual trust and understanding. Such contact gradually turns the salon into something more than just a place for treatments – it becomes a space where clients feel secure and accepted.

What values and principles guide you in running your own business and in relationships with clients, especially in the context of emigrating and starting over in a foreign country?

Honesty, professionalism, and genuine care for clients are the foundation of my business. As an immigrant, I understand how challenging it can be to find one’s place in a new environment. Therefore, I strive to create a space where clients feel accepted. Building this community is the most important thing for me.

I am also driven by a commitment to continuous improvement. I try to stay current with new developments and constantly upgrade my skills. I embrace diversity – both cultural and personal – recognizing that each story brings something valuable to our salon.
