Ce La Vi, Singapore
Ce La Vi is the restaurant situated on the top of the Marina Bay Sands Hotel in Singapore. Dining there was one of the absolute highlights of our honeymoon.
I booked in advance, requesting a table a time which I knew would be perfect to see the Singapore skyline go from day to night.
I have always admired the Marina Bay Sands Hotel. The structure is absolutely amazing and I would love to stay there one day. They even have a rooftop pool! I’ve been very envious of the views across the Singapore Grand Prix circuit when I’ve seen it on television.
On arrival at the hotel, we were pointed to a lift which took us to the restaurant reception. On giving our names, we were amazingly directed to one of the best tables in the restaurant. Right against the glass edge, overlooking the most amazing view. I couldn’t believe our luck!
Everything on the menu sounded delicious. I opted for the Rangers Valley rib-eye which had a roasted garlic and shallot glaze, my husband chose the chicken breast with Szechuan chilli glaze. We also chose accompaniments of turmeric rice and Bombay potatoes. When the mains came out, they looked beautiful. We couldn’t wait to tuck in.
After the mains, as we didn’t have a starter, we had room for a dessert. So we ordered a molten Matcha cheesecake and a warm hazelnut and valrhona chocolate cake. The desserts were so delicious, I literally can’t put into words how glad I was that I ordered a dessert. And because it was our honeymoon, they made such a fuss of us, putting in a giant sparkler and writing a congratulations message on my dessert. What a lovely touch!
The food, the view, the service and the atmosphere of the Ce La Vi restaurant was absolutely amazing and I couldn’t recommend this enough. It was quite an indulgent meal out. Two course each and a bottle of wine cost us £200, but it was so worth it. If I was in Singapore again, I would definitely visit again. Although I would be worried that going again wouldn’t match this experience as it was so amazing.
