Exercises You Could And Should Take Up From The Comfort Of Your Own Home
This is a collaborative post
Exercise is an important part of many of our lives for all manner of reasons. For some it’s a case of just staying in shape, for others it can be a key cog in ensuring we look after our mental health, while for others it is part of a schedule put together by a rehab clinic to stay on track with recovery, whether that be for addiction or physical injuries.
It isn’t easy finding the time to go to the gym every day, while many runners aren’t going to want to brave the elements when it’s heavy snow or the hail is coming down. So finding alternatives can be a real necessity.
Luckily, there are dozens of great exercises you can enjoy from the comfort of your own home to stay active and keep you feeling in the shape and health you want to be…
The Swan Dive
For those who enjoy yoga or pilates, it’s likely you are already familiar with the swan dive, but for those that aren’t, it’s a stretch that is really great for improving your mood. It’s a simple stretch to do and involves lying face down (ideally on a mat) with your arms stretched over your head and your toes pointing.
You then are required to lift your arms and legs off the ground.
Push-ups
The simplest exercise of all time is the humble push-up. You don’t need to tell us how those work, but a number of push-ups each day are great for the mind, body and soul.
What’s more, it’s incredibly easy to track improvements day-to-day and you’ll see how your strength improves by simply logging how many push-ups you achieve each day. It’s a great way to get your day started.
Yoga
Going one step further than just the swan dive, 30 minutes spent doing yoga each day will improve both your physical fitness and mental well-being. There are dozens of ways in which you can do it. You can join and subscribe to an online class, you can take information from a book or online to get you started, while YouTube channels such as Yoga By Candace are ideal for people of all ages and all abilities.

Weights
One of the bits of gym equipment that won’t take up much space in the home are weights. They’re relatively cheap to purchase with dumbbells also easy to just slot in a cupboard away from sight when you’ve finished.
Again, like push-ups, it can be simple to track progress and a great, simple exercise to enjoy from the comfort of your own home.
