It is no secret that the festive season is one that is filled with an abundance of stress. There are many things that are constantly on your mind and all of them can sometimes silence you and make you feel overwhelmed.
We have all felt the stress of Christmas before and as it ticks down to Christmas Day, I thought now would be the perfect time to run through the fun activities I have just for myself when Christmas looms.
As the holidays tick closer, you will spend your time thinking about family, your kids, your partner, your friends or whoever else. I like to take some time to make the Christmas season fun for me!
This is a collaborative post.
Trying My Hand In Sports
Although my husband loves sports all year round, you will very rarely see me sitting down to enjoy sports, but around Christmas time sports are as prolific as ever with it being the busiest time of the year for sports fans.
It is a known fact that Christmas time is the best time to be a sports fan so I made a pledge to allow myself some breaks with sports and even sports betting! Even though I don’t seem like the betting type, it’s surprisingly fun to have a go at football or horse racing with horse racing being my personal favourite of the two as it’s quick and I love seeing the horses run! But, it isn’t just sport that is fun to bet on, I recently found a range of the best slot games the UK has to offer using casinos like Boylesports who offer safe and fun gaming options for players like us who are struggling to find things to do.
Although you might not think sports is for you, this holiday season is a perfect place to try your hand in the multiple types of getting that are available at your fingertips.
Hosting A Night Of Fun
Although around Christmas may seem like the worst time to host a night in your house or flat, inviting your closest friends or family members around for a chilled evening can do a world of good for you all. Getting out of the house and not stressing about Christmas is great and something you might take for granted during the Christmas season.
Things To Do On This Night
Starting the evening of fun with some drinks and a couple of games is a great way to start. Whether it’s board games, card games or a trivia quiz, you will be able to find something for you to do and enjoy together.
As well as this, you have the Christmas classics that you can all watch together, whether it’s kid-friendly films, like Elf or A Muppets Christmas Carol, or if you want some romantic Christmas films like The Holiday or Love Actually. The options are endless, and you will not be short of a good time.
Seeing The Beauty Of Winter Nature
Although the wintertime is cold and may be harsh on you, the beauty of winter is not lost upon me. As it gets colder, snow is more and more likely to make a bigger appearance than it already has and going out for some walks in fresh snow with music blasting is one of the best parts of women to me.

Going outside and walking is already a good thing for your mental health and getting some fresh air while the stress of Christmas is lingering on your brain is a great thing to do. These walks are a good time to think about everything and practise being mindful of everything you need to do and remember. But, make sure you have some good walking shoes on as it may be slippy outside!
