There’s nothing better than packing a bag and going on a fun travel adventure. Indeed, when we think back on our favourite memories, the chances are that many of them involve exploring a new part of the world.
How to Travel More Frequently
This is a collaborative post
Alas, though we all know how much fun it is to travel, we often don’t get to do it as often as we’d like to. And that’s down to two main reasons: minimal time, and the high cost of travelling. However, with a little bit of know-how, these problems can be overcome. In this post, we’ll look at some handy tips you can take onboard to increase the number of travel experiences you have.
Use Your Time
Most people look at the amount of holiday time they get from their employer and think that’s all the time they have to play with for travel adventures. But that’s not the case. That chunk of time will be the main opportunity to travel, but it won’t be the only one. One way to increase the amount of time you travel is to use all those bank holidays and other days we all have off. There are plenty of places you can go with a four-day weekend. And if you use one of your allocated days off work, you can turn that into a five-day holiday. That’s plenty of time to explore somewhere new!
Keep It Budget Friendly
For some people, the issue isn’t the amount of time they have to play with — it’s the impact that travelling has on their finances. And that makes sense since travelling often feels expensive. However, there are plenty of things you can do to make your travelling adventures more budget-friendly. For instance, you could focus on cheap city breaks Europe; while places like London and Paris have the capacity to destroy your bank account, cities such as Barcelona, Lisbon and Krakow can be highly affordable. Focus on the less expensive places to visit, and your finances will thank you.

Look Local
But who says that you necessarily need to look overseas? You don’t! You can save money and time by taking a staycation. If you live in a big city, then you might already be in a place that attracts tourists. It’s just that you wouldn’t know it, since you’ve been approaching your home city like, well, a local. It’s worthwhile taking a look to see if you can get a cheap hotel for the night during the low season, and experience your city from a new perspective. You might find that you have just as much fun as if you’d hopped on a plane.
Remote Working
Finally, if you’re looking to make travelling a long-term part of your life, then consider getting a remote job such as teaching English with these TEFL courses. If you can get one of those jobs (which are increasingly common), then you’ll have the option of spending longer time overseas. And since you’ll be earning money as you move, travelling won’t have as much of an impact on your bank balance.
