Outdoor Activities to Try in Little Rock
This is a collaborative post
Little Rock is one of the most historically significant and incredible cities in the country: yet when most people visit, they spend so much time indoors they don’t get to see all of it. Spending time outside gives you the chance to see and do more while in the area while also getting fresh air along the way.
These are some of the outdoor activities anyone should try while they’re in Little Rock!
The Living Historic Arkansas Museum
If you want to walk amongst historic buildings and learn about the area without having to spend your entire visit indoors, it’s time to check out the Historic Arkansas Museum. This state history museum in downtown Little Rock does have an extensive interior and collection within its walls, but the exterior is a large attraction as well.
Not only are their historic log cabins that show how life was for the first Europeans that settled there, but there are also gorgeous statues and plaques that guide you through the history of the area.
Little Rock Zoo
This 96-year-old park has been through many changes in its lifetime but is coming into its own as one of the best parks in the state to see live animals from around the world. With over 200 species on 33 acres, you can see an assortment of animals that will wow anyone who visits!
Hike Pinnacle Mountain State Park
Pinnacle Mountain has a 1,011-foot summit, which makes it the ideal mountain for beginners and hobbyists to climb while they’re visiting. This is an easy climb to do, but because of the varied terrain of the Little Rock area, you get to enjoy incredible views of the area around you. This climb is most impressive in the twilight hours when the entire area is cast in bright golden light and makes for fantastic photos.

The entire state park is gorgeous and is home to multiple trails and walking areas, ensuring you can keep active and enjoy your visit to one of the most interesting cities in the country. This park alone may inspire you to start searching for Little Rock houses for sale!
Check Out the Historic Old Mill
Although it might not seem like a mill is a top destination, visiting this historic old miss in Little Rock gives you the chance to see a bit of history surrounded by endless gorgeous nature. This mill is over a hundred years old and is surrounded by bright blue river water and lush greenery that makes it feel like it stepped right out of a fairy tale. While visiting, you can read historical plaques and information on the area, still getting in the fresh air and natural beauty of the area.
You Don’t Have to Stay Inside to Have Fun!
Although there are tons of restaurants, incredible museums, and art galleries that you can explore while inside: spending some time outside can make everything even better! Put on some sunscreen, grab a water bottle, and try some of these fun activities while you’re in Little Rock.
