Just last week I returned from a blissful (and peaceful) 4 days in Lanzarote with my friend. We read books, lounged, enjoyed cocktails and had meals that we didn’t have to cook. I even had time to blow dry my hair and get dressed up for a change. It was AMAZING! The weather was warm (27 degrees) and our hotel was in a gorgeous area on the outskirts of the coastline of Puerto del Carmen. Just what I needed - a few days to recharge.

The food at The Swan at Chapel Down is exceptional. I visited the other night to try out some of their dishes - Moroccan spiced chicken, pistachio and dried apricot couscous with onion seed flat breads. Yummy!

Here are some snaps of the other dishes the kitchen offers. Whether you like a glass of wine or just enjoy great food in a wonderful venue, it’s a fantastic choice. Thanks to The Swan for hosting us for a wonderful evening. P.s. If you haven’t tried it, Chapel Down wine is pretty amazing too.

Ad: Here is the before and after in our dining room. What an amazing difference having a new blind from @blindsdirectgb has made to the space!

We changed from a vertical blind to a roman blind. This is the stunning Fryetts Aria Ocean roman blind but they also do shutters, wooden blinds and lots of other options. Our blind is thermal lined to help keep the room warmer in winter.

Ordering samples is free and installing your blind is straightforward. They have lots of helpful videos to help you measure up, install etc.

Gifted: I’m so in love with the smell of these candles from @kindredfires it’s such a shame that you can’t share smells through your feed - they are truly heavenly. My favourite is pink jasmine.

A hand poured soy wax candle is such a lovely gift to give or receive. These guys do it so well - all from their Manchester workshop. They are also lovely to look at!
