The Most Romantic Restaurants in the UK
This is a collaborative post
The UK is a country with a rich culture of food and dining. It has some of the best restaurants in the world, but these are not always well known. I’ve put together some of the most romantic restaurants in the UK. We will be looking at their history, how they were built, what they serve and what makes them so special. We hope that you find it interesting and that you may want to visit one or two when you are looking for a special meal out for you and your loved one.
If you don’t have a number one in your life to take to one of these restaurants and are over 60, you could try looking at this over 60s dating site. You might find your other half and be raring to try this tick list of restaurants in no time.
Sotto Sotto, Bath
Situated just a few steps away from the Roman Baths, Sotto Sotto is an intimate Italian restaurant that has been awarded the ‘Best Italian Restaurant in Bath’ at the Bath Good Food Awards. The cuisine describes itself as simple, but with the aim to let the ingredients speak for themselves. This romantic UK restaurant has a 5-star rating on Trip Advisor, with over 8,000 reviews. The menu includes a pistachio-crusted rack of lamb, linguine con gamberi (prawns) and fresh grilled swordfish. Sounds amazing.
The Witchez Photo Design Cafe Bar, Brighton
Again, another romantic UK restaurant that has a 5 star Trip Advisor review but also with a very good reason. The food is outstanding and the team there are so friendly and helpful. The Witchez in Brighton is a small, quirky venue right on the Brighton seafront, so almost definitely will require you to book ahead but it’s well worth it. Dishes include ‘little hooves’ – potato dumplings with beef stew and gherkins, lamb steam marinated in fresh rosemary, thyme, mint and garlic and Bavarian schnitzel.

Bulrush, Bristol
Bulrush is a Michelin Star restaurant in Cotham, Bristol owned by Chef George Livesey which is known for its multi-course tasting menus. The interior is designed in a minimalist fashion, letting the food speak for itself. During a sitting, you’ll be treated to many tasting plates, all of which are beautifully presented. These dishes include BBQ monkfish, smoked mussels & yuzu, turnip and buckwheat honey & salsify brûlée, rhubarb & rose. No wonder this makes the list of the most romantic restaurants in the UK. What a treat that would be.
Clos Maggiore, London
The interior of Clos Maggiore will leave you spellbound with its floral and foliage decorated ceilings. This French restaurant located in Covent Garden is a real treat for couples looking for a romantic restaurant in London. Not only is the menu tantalisingly good, but they also have an extensive wine list with over 2,500 options from 18 countries. Main courses include venison saddle, roasted globe artichoke and Cornish sea bass. Desserts are equally as impressive, with people raving about marmalade ice cream sandwiches.
Do these romantic UK restaurants whet your appetite? Are you looking for somewhere special to take your loved one on your next date?
