Look to your child’s learning styles
Your child is only going to thrive in these learning environments if their unique ways of working are catered for. It’s a good time to personalise the space to help your child get the most out of your child’s experience. If your child relates a lot more to audio-visual learning then consider getting your child a laptop or a PC to help them watch videos and listening exercises. Similarly, if your child prefers to learn through reading and writing, then get them a range of studying books and worksheets to help them practice.
Remove distractions
Being distracted only brings a lot more stress to both you and your child. Their study space should be quiet, filled with motivational guides and studying material, as well as a welcoming space for your child to learn. Having those distractions can slow down the learning process and let your child know that they are using this space for their studies and only to get down to focusing on their work.
Invest in ergonomic equipment
From the keyboard your child might be using, to the pens they use and the chairs they sit in for long periods – they can all have an impact. Your child can feel uncomfortable and stressed and can even cause themselves to strain if they’re using the wrong equipment. If your child is spending a lot of time in their study space then it’s worth looking into ergonomic solutions. Not only does this make their space a lot more comfortable to use, but their body is also protected for the future.
