We briefly touched on mental health and how sport acts as a form of stress relief. There’s a certain feel-good factor associated with sports. It raises your spirits, gives you something to feel good about and releases endorphins which help to relieve stress. For children, school can be a stressful time and having an outlet like this can help to make school more enjoyable.
Physical Activity
According to the professionals, children should be getting at least 60 minutes of moderate to vigorous exercise a day. Many children are way below the threshold and PE lessons aim to get them to where they need to be. They also introduce them to new sports that they can take up in their free time outside of school.
