So, whether you’re after a traditional family day out, the perfect Instagram-worthy backdrop, or simply an excuse to get muddy and sip on some hot chocolate, my list of PYOs in Kent has you covered. Here are my 10 best places to pick your own pumpkins in Kent in 2025.
Pumpkin Moon (Maidstone, Rainham & Faversham)
If you only visit one pumpkin patch this year, make it Pumpkin Moon. This family-run farm has three Kent locations, Maidstone, Rainham, and Faversham, and over 100 varieties of pumpkins, squashes, and gourds. Yes, you read that right: one hundred!
What I love about Pumpkin Moon is the sheer variety. You’ll find the classic orange carving pumpkins, of course, but also knobbly gourds, ghostly whites, and even the deep-green “Crown Prince” squashes that roast beautifully. The fields are spacious, the staff are friendly, and there’s always a lively, family-friendly atmosphere.
They open throughout October (weekdays and weekends), and entry is ticketed, so book early as they tend to sell out fast! For 2025, they’re promising expanded parking and new seasonal food stalls, so it’s shaping up to be their best year yet.
PYO Pumpkins at Beluncle Farm (Hoo, Medway)
Beluncle Farm in Hoo is one of the original Kent pumpkin-picking spots, and it’s still one of the best. Their PYO Pumpkins event has become a family tradition for many locals, and I can see why.
The views over the Medway are stunning, and the patch itself is huge. There are thousands of pumpkins in every shape and size imaginable. The vibe is relaxed, the staff are helpful, and they even have pumpkin-themed snacks (yes, pumpkin-spiced doughnuts are a thing).
Tickets are sold per car, not per person, which makes it great value if you’re heading out with friends or family. They usually open around mid-October, but keep an eye on their website for the exact 2025 dates.
Stanhill Farm (Dartford)
If you’re based closer to London but still want that countryside feel, Stanhill Farm in Dartford is a brilliant option. It’s easy to get to, yet once you’re in the fields, it feels a world away from city life.
Their pumpkin patch opens every October and is perfect for younger families. It’s big enough to explore but small enough that little legs won’t get too tired. They also sell delicious farm produce and freshly baked treats in their shop, so you’ll never leave without a bag of something tasty.

Lower Ladysden Farm (Goudhurst)

If you like your pumpkin picking with a side of rustic charm, Erriot Wood Pumpkin Patch is a gem. It’s a bit smaller and less commercial than some of the bigger farms, but that’s exactly what makes it so lovely.
Expect “weird and wonderful” varieties, hay bales, and a proper countryside feel. It’s the kind of place where you can take a slow stroll, chat to the farmers, and really enjoy the experience without feeling rushed.

Broadditch Farm (Southfleet, near Bluewater)
Broadditch Farm goes all-out for Halloween, and it’s not just pumpkin picking; it’s a full-on autumn experience. Their 3-acre Pumpkin Patch is one part of a much larger seasonal event that includes spooky trails, themed decorations, and plenty of photo ops.
Tickets are sold per car or family group, and slots tend to sell out quickly. The patch is well-organised, and there’s always something new each year, including tractor rides and face painting.

Felderland PYO (Between Sandwich & Deal)
Heading east towards the coast? Make a stop at Felderland PYO, one of the biggest and best-run pick-your-own farms in Kent. They’re known for their strawberries and raspberries over the summer, but come autumn, the pumpkins take centre stage.

Saffery Farm (Selling, near Faversham)
I think this one’s a bit of a hidden gem. Saffery Farm near Faversham is smaller and more low-key than some of the bigger names, but it has a really warm, community feel.
You’ll find good-sized pumpkins at very reasonable prices (often starting from just £1), and it’s rarely crowded. It’s ideal if you’re looking for something quieter or more local.
It’s also close to a few lovely country pubs, which are perfect for warming up afterwards with a roast and a pint of cider!
Groombridge Hill Pumpkin Patch (near Tunbridge Wells)
If you’re in West Kent or near the Sussex border, Groombridge Hill (also called Birchden PYO Pumpkins) is one of the best spots for pumpkin picking.
They plant over 18,000 pumpkins across a sprawling 5-acre field, so there’s plenty of choice. From tiny minis to gigantic whoppers, you’ll find it all here. The farm team put real effort into making it fun for families. You can expect photo props, refreshments, and cheerful staff who’ll help load your haul into the car.
It’s also super close to Groombridge Place, so you can easily combine both into a lovely autumn day out.
Castle Farm (Shoreham, near Sevenoaks)
Most people know Castle Farm for its famous lavender fields, but did you know they also grow pumpkins and squashes? The patch isn’t massive, but it’s beautifully kept, and the produce is top quality.
What makes Castle Farm special is how they treat pumpkin growing as part of their wider farming tradition. You’ll find that everything is hand-cut, cured, and displayed beautifully for visitors. You can wander among the produce, learn about the varieties, and pick out something truly unique for cooking or decoration.
Their farm shop is also fantastic. You’ll be blown away by the googlies. You can stock up on honey, oils, and dried lavender while you’re there. It’s one of the prettiest farm settings in Kent, and a perfect way to end your pumpkin-picking season.
