2018 Shoe Trends

2018 Shoe Trends

I love shoes! I love buying shoes and I love wearing shoes. As I get older I am becoming more practical with my shoe choice, only wearing high heels for special occasions and preferring to wear lower heels or flats during the day, but that doesn’t stop me buying a fab pair of heels when I see them.

I am lucky enough to have a dressing room that my shoes (and clothes live in). My shoes sit neatly on shelves that can pull out, so I can decide which ones to wear. But between you and me, I have more shoes than can comfortably sit on those shelves, so I also have some space in my husband’s wardrobe in our bedroom! Shh!

I thought I’d have a look at what’s going to be big in the shoe world this year, by identifying the 2018 shoe trends, and there’s some interesting ideas.

Lucite Heels

Take a look at this selection of shoes and boots with lucite heels. I’m not a big fan when the shoes are themselves clear, but incorporated into a fantastic design, they look great. I literally love the Irregular Choice ones.

Stiletto Pumps

Who What Wear suggests that the stiletto pump will be big in 2018. I love the stiletto pump and have lots of these. They are great for work (if I want to wear heels) but also slinging on with a pair of jeans and making an outfit look a bit dressier. If I find a pair that fits perfectly, I buy them in a multitude of colours. I tend to buy my shoes online in two sizes if it’s the first time I’ve bought from that place, so I know what to keep and what to send back (check here if you need help with sizing).

Ultra Violet

This has been voted Pantone of the Year 2018 and it’s everywhere. It’s vibrant and looks great on your feet. I’d happily add some of these shoes to my ever growing collection.

What’s your shoe confession? What trend do you see being big in 2018?

  1. those purple ones <3 <3
Am i already at the age where getting old, wearing purple and misbehaving might apply?

I think you can wear purple and misbehave at any time Berni! I don’t think there’s an age requirement 🙂

  2. Oooh, great selection of shoes here. I love shoes too., although I am generally lazy and tend to wear the same ones all of the time. Thanks for the inspiration. Pen x #AnythingGoes

  3. I zoned in on this post when I saw it on the #AnythingGoes linky. I too am a Shoe Queen and all of those up there that you’ve talked about are dreamy. I mean, those pink Jimmy Choos. Dreamy!! They make me happy and so long as they continue to do so, shoes will always be my ‘thing’.

Me too Jaki. I love buying shoes. Luckily I don’t have expensive tastes, and to be fair the high street do some pretty amazing shoes!

Me too Maria – can’t help buying the sparkly shoes. I don’t just wear them at Christmas though!

  4. I’m the complete opposite, shoes are my nemesis. I have muscular dystrophy which makes shoe wearing uncomfortable, but I was also raised in Hawai’i where I spent the first 24 years of my life barefoot when at all possible (which was all the time). #AnythingGoes

Oh no Heather. That’s annoying but in some ways probably quite good. You probably save a fortune in time and money, if you aren’t wandering round the shops buying shoes you don’t need! Ahh, I bet that was lovely growing up in Hawaii.
