Tucked away in the Kent countryside, Goodnestone Park offers more than just beautiful gardens and historic charm; it’s a place to slow down, reconnect, and rediscover your creativity, thanks to a programme of creative workshops which are running this spring and summer.
Creative Workshops at Goodnestone Park
These workshops, facilitated and coordinated by Tan Gangar, invite you to step out of the everyday and into something good for your soul—and I, for one, can’t wait. While Tan ensures a seamless and welcoming experience, each workshop is taught by renowned artists and makers—highly respected, practising experts in their field—offering a rare opportunity to learn directly from leading creatives. We all spend too long looking at screens, inside our homes, when we know that being creative in nature is so very good for us. So it’s time to nurture our skills and wellbeing with an immersive experience.
Create, Reflect, and Unwind
Set within tranquil surroundings, these small-group workshops are intentionally unhurried. The focus isn’t perfection; it’s about getting fully immersed in your chosen workshop and enjoying your surroundings. Across each session, you’ll find expert guidance, carefully selected materials, and a welcoming atmosphere that encourages exploration and connection to nature.
What’s On?
Here’s a sneak peek at some of the workshops you can book:
Garden Journaling with Shilpa Agashe
Spend a day creating your own painted journal inspired by the landscapes of Goodnestone. Guided by expert tutors, you’ll be invited to explore observation, storytelling, and artistic expression, all shaped by the gardens themselves.
Flower Pressing with JamJar Edit
Work with seasonal blooms from the gorgeous gardens to create delicate, lasting keepsakes. This workshop is all about slowing down and appreciating the quiet beauty of crafting with nature.

Botanical Painting with Eloise Gibb
This workshop will help you to capture the intricate details of plants and flowers using watercolour techniques. In these inviting surroundings, you’ll be drawing inspiration directly from what you can see in the gardens.
Mindful Yoga & Meditation Retreat with Tan Gangar
This session offers a truly nourishing well-being practice. Take part in a holistic, restorative experience that connects body, mind, and the beautiful environment around you.

More Than A Workshop
What sets these experiences apart is the setting itself. The gardens are considered among the finest in the South East and are perfect for inspiring creativity and offering an escape from the day-to-day. With everything thoughtfully arranged—from materials to expert tuition—you’re free to fully immerse yourself in the experience. A delicious lunch is also included, giving you time to relax, reflect, and connect with fellow participants, making the day as nourishing as it is inspiring. What more could you want?
I’m thrilled to be able to offer you an exclusive discount. If you use code SECRET50, you’ll get 50% off any workshop (except the flower pressing workshop). You can book from here.
These gorgeous workshops aren’t about becoming an expert overnight. They’re about carving out time to create, to learn something new, and to enjoy the simple pleasure of making, alongside others doing the same. It’s a chance to step back, relax and take some well-deserved you time. Why not book one of these today?
