If you are anything like me, you scroll through your Instagram feed and marvel at how some brands have just nailed it. Their feeds look clean, well presented and they have a theme. As much as I try, I don’t think my feed will ever be that polished. I snap the sort of photos I want to see and so, in turn, they end up looking exactly like that, a beautiful mismatch of my mind.
But if you are looking for a beautiful feed or even a beautiful way to showcase your products, there is help at hand. I’ve been looking through the scores of resources available at Design Bundles. This is the perfect place for any designer to start. For example, if you are looking to showcase several ranges of mugs, you could browse through their mug mockup templates. They are perfect for allowing you the freedom of showcasing your products, but not having to faff about shooting each and every design you want to do. Mockups are used by a lot of businesses and they are a prime example of showing how something will look once it is made.
Design Bundles is a pretty great place to hang out actually. Not only are their mock-ups (and other resources) really well-priced, a lot of their designs are exclusive as they are from independent designers. They’ve got everything you would need for your small business. Not just product mockups, but templates for your social media, photo resources, templates for presentations. You name it, they’ve got it.
They’ve also got a whole host of products for the crafter too, so it’s not just for the designers or those wanting to professionalise their brand assets. There’s plenty for the hobbyists too – scrapbooking and card making. They’ve even got wedding stationery templates.
So back to the mock-ups. I think these are great for many reasons. Sometimes you get designers/photographers who are way too busy to be able to shoot every single product. Also, consistency is a key factor when you are deciding whether you trust a brand of not. Imagery and other elements should have a consistent look and feel to ensure that the people browsing your site trust that you offer a quality product. By using high-quality mock-ups and templates across your site, you can get a much more polished finish. It’s as simple as browsing, choosing your design and downloading your mock-up files.
Also sometimes, especially in a small business, there isn’t actually a designer doing all the design work. It may be someone who has some experience with a bit of photography, a bit of social media and roughly knows their way around Photoshop. These mock-ups can be great for saving time and also helping with achieving the finish you want. Sometimes it’s better to trust the experts, in this case, the designers who are offering the mock-ups, to be able to position and shoot the perfect image for you to then use on your site. I know this has great appeal for me and would have been very useful in some of the roles I have held.
I can see this being appealing to those who have Etsy shops. After all, you can be competing with a lot of other sellers and it’s important to stand out.
