How to Be an Amazing Host on Your Wedding Day

What would a wedding be without guests? Unless you are the kind of person who naturally would prefer to elope with as few people as possible, your guests are likely to be a big part of the equation, but how much thought do you give to them?
Many people, when they are planning their wedding day, will spend hours deliberating over which rings to buy, which venue to host the reception in and which wedding photographer is likely to take the best pictures, but they spend little time thinking about how to make their guests feel welcome and ensure that they have the best time possible.
If you want to be one of those couples who do give lots of consideration to your guests, and ensure that the effort they have gone to in order to be with you on your big day is reciprocated, here are a few things you may like to do:
Give Them Plenty Of Notice
No matter how much someone likes a good wedding, no one likes a wedding being sprung on them at the last moment. They need to book time off work, find the perfect outfit and pick a gift, so if it is possible to do so, try to give your guests as much notice of the big day as possible, even if it’s just sending out a tentative save the day card.
Be Mindful Of Relationship Dynamics
Although they will do their best to grin and bear it, no one likes being seated next to someone they do not get along with, so when you’re working on your seating plan, try to make sure that June isn’t sat next to her ex-husband or that Sue and Jane who have never gotten along are not on the same table. This will help your guests relax and enjoy the day, but it will also help you to relax because you won’t be worrying about any disagreements either!
Be Thankful
Yes, it is your big day, but your guests did not have to use their precious free time to attend. The fact that they have opted to do so and that they have taken the time to dress up and choose a gift for you is really amazing. So, be sure to remember that, thank them graciously throughout the day and be grateful for what you have!
Keep The Food And Drink Flowing
Of course, the most important thing you can do to ensure you’re great hosts for your wedding is to ensure that your guests always have plenty of good food and drink to keep them going through what is likely to be a long and eventful day!
Remember The Staff
The wedding photographer and the makeup lady may not be official guests, but they will be heavily involved in your day so remember to treat them well by ensuring that they have plenty of refreshments and lots of breaks too, It will make for a much better atmosphere and when they are treated right, the people working at your wedding are more likely to go above and beyond for you too!
