Planning A Post-Lockdown Wedding
This is a collaborative post
The pandemic restrictions are finally coming to an end, and wedding season is slowly starting to happen. Numerous couples delayed their engagement parties, honeymoons, and weddings during the pandemic. It was an overwhelming and saddening time for those trying to plan their wedding. Couples can start to plan their wedding celebrations again as the world reopens, and hopefully, their special day will be just around the corner. If you are planning a post-lockdown wedding, here are a few tips to bear in mind.
Don’t Dismiss Weekdays
Most couples assume their wedding day must be on a weekend. However, after 16 months of wedding delays and cancellations, most venues are fully booked on weekends. Try looking at some weekday dates instead so you can still get married in your dream venue without needing to wait a few years. Venues sometimes offer discounted rates for weekday weddings, so you might be able to save some money as well. Win, win! Just make sure to give your guests plenty of time to get the day off work.
Check The Covid Guidelines
Covid restrictions in England were lifted on the 19th of July. However, some restrictions are still in place for the rest of the UK, and there are rules around international travel. If you want a destination wedding or have family travelling from abroad, you may need to wait a little longer before planning your wedding. You could have a small celebration in England and have another wedding party when the international travel restrictions have lifted.

Send Out Save The Dates
It’s important to send out your invitations as soon as possible so you can determine the exact number of guests. There is likely to be an influx of wedding invitations in the next few years. Make sure your wedding invitations stand out so guests can keep them as beautiful keepsakes of your special day.
Have Fun
Planning your special day can be a fun experience – if you embrace it! Organising isn’t for everyone, and some couples find the planning process tedious. Try to enjoy choosing a DJ and the catering menu by making mini date nights out of wedding planning sessions. Go to your favourite bar to sample cocktails for the wedding or take a mini-break to a potential wedding venue.
Your wedding is not just about one day – it’s about the process of planning an event to celebrate your love together!
