Being healthy is good and it’s what we should all be doing – it’s an idea we should have in our heads all the time, helping us to make the right choices and live a longer, happier life. For some people, that just makes sense and they’re happy to do what needs to be done, but for others, it all feels like a lot of effort, and it’s hard to get motivated even when they know that it’s the right thing to do.
If you fall into that second category and being healthy just seems like a lot of hard work, you’re definitely not alone, but that doesn’t mean you can keep on like that – it’s going to make you ill (literally). With that in mind, here are some ways to be healthy even if you think the whole thing is a challenge – try some of these options and you’ll soon see that it’s not as hard as you think.

One Change At A Time
Trying to overhaul your entire lifestyle in one go to make it a healthier one is a challenge – you’re really not wrong there. It’s not just a challenge; it’s unrealistic and can quickly lead to burnout, a lack of motivation, and falling back into old, unhealthy habits (or picking up new ones, come to that!), so it’s not a great plan, even if it feels like it will solve all your problems in one go.
The best option is to take things slowly, choosing one thing to change at a time and focusing on that. You might decide to do a little bit of exercise each day, for example, or perhaps you want to go to bed 30 minutes earlier. You might decide it’s time to switch from sugary drinks so you decide to try healthy soda instead. Whatever it is, make sure you’ve got it sorted before moving on to the next item on your list, and it will all become much easier.
Find Exercise You Enjoy
There are many things you can do to make your lifestyle a healthier one, but one that’s really going to make a huge difference is finding an activity you enjoy. That’s the issue with a lot of exercise routines; they’re not fun and they’re a lot of hard work, and that combination means you might just decide not to do it, which isn’t good for your health goals.

If you can find a type of exercise you enjoy, whether it’s time at the gym, running, joining in with team sports, or plenty of other options, then you won’t mind if it’s hard work, and you’ll be keen to do it whenever you’re able to, helping you get healthier without as much effort.
Practice Mindfulness
When we talk about health, the first thing that comes to a lot of people’s minds is physical health, and although that’s not wrong (and it’s very important), mental health also needs to be considered and made part of your routine.
One thing you can do that doesn’t need too much effort is mindfulness. That’s the practice of clearing your mind and living in the present rather than worrying about the past or the future, and it’s a great way to de-stress. Although it will take some practice, once you know how to do it, it becomes easy and hugely beneficial.
