How to Take Awesome Selfies

How to Take Awesome Selfies

Everyone loves a selfie. Whether it’s with our best duck pout or showing us in front of an amazing scene, we love to pap ourselves close up. Here’s my tips for getting the best selfie possible.

Practice makes perfect. Keep trying our different lighting and poses to see what works for you. Once you’ve mastered this, you’ll have the perfect pose every time.

Shadows are not your friend. They can make your skin tone look uneven and can even give you bags. Try taking your selfies either at sunrise or sunset as the golden glow will come across in your skin and the lower sun will avoid those pesky shadows.

Lighting is key. Selfies look best in natural light so head outside in the day time if possible. If you are out and about, you might also find the natural background is a gorgeous setting for a quick snap.

Angles can give you definition. Most people look better when you hold your camera higher than you face. Fact! It elongates your neck and makes your eyes look bigger. Just try it.

Smile! A smile says a thousand words and also makes people more endearing to your selfie. If you aren’t confident with your smile, you can look at options to make you feel like a million dollars. Or even pop on a gorgeous shade of lippy!

If you don’t feel you look your best (and I assure you, you are gorgeous) why not apply a filter? Black and white can look retro and mysterious, hell, why not apply a cute nose and bunny ears. No one said social media was real or serious! If you are serious about your selfie, there’s loads of apps out there which allow you to manipulate your selfie, but remember what you see on social media isn’t always real, so don’t feel you need to compare. Have confidence in your selfie!

Location can be key, so make sure you embrace your background for that fab selfie. If you are looking at enhancing your smile, you could take a look at these guys. What’s your top tips for getting the perfect selfie?
