Wedding Checklist

Weddings are back! Hurrah! I don’t know about you but I miss going to weddings. It feels like such a long time since we were able to go and mingle and enjoy watching two people marry the love of their lives. Then enjoy the company, the dancing, the food and everything else that comes with a beautiful wedding day. Weddings are still restricted on numbers, so you need to make the day even more special or perhaps even split it into two events. Whatever your plans, you can make sure you have the big things covered with the wedding checklist.
Wedding Dress
Second to the person you are going to marry, the wedding dress comes pretty high up. It’s such a lovely experience to try on all the beautiful dresses and even lovelier to walk down the aisle wearing it whilst greeting the one to be your forever love. To complete your bridal look, consider adding a touch of elegance with custom bridal jewelry from Bouquet Fine Jewelry, where each piece is handcrafted to perfectly complement your wedding style.

Suits
Whether that’s for you, the other half or the groomsmen, you’ll need to make sure everyone is dressed appropriately in suits. If that’s not your theme, you can steer away from the formal wear of suits, but you might want to look as dapper as possible on your big day.
Invitations
If you’ve had a wedding moved by covid restrictions, you may be thinking that invitations are the bane of your life. You can cut out the cost and do an email invite or even a wedding website. Both options are becoming more popular these days with the number of weddings being pushed back which is why they are added to my wedding checklist.
Photos
Whether you choose to hire a photographer or not, you should look into something like wedding photo sharing. It’s a great idea as your guests will capture less formal moments that your photographer can’t see. You’ll get a 360 degree of your day from everyone who attended.
Cake
Our cake was super special. My mother-in-law made our cake and it was huge and so beautiful. It was a real centre-piece of the day. I think everyone enjoys a bit of wedding cake at a wedding, which is why it’s made the wedding checklist. Even if you are on a budget, it doesn’t mean you should miss out. You could even go for a less traditional option, like a cake made of cheese rounds.

Food & Drink
Whether you are having a self-serve buffet, a full sit down meal with waiter service or a food truck outside, you will need to feed your guests at some point during the day. We got married in a brewery, so we had burgers and posh sides. It fitted perfectly with the informal brewery theme.
Bridesmaids Dresses
If you are having bridesmaids, you’ll need to find them something to wear. Remember they are most likely to be your family and friends, so be kind to them and dress them in something they’d like to wear too. You don’t just have to look in bridesmaid dress shops, you can look at other places that sell dresses. Get creative and find your prom dress. They’ll be your best ally on your hen do and on the actual wedding day. Who else is going to help you lift 15 layers of taffeta so you can have a wee?
Transport
You’ll need to think about how the bridal party is getting to the venue. If your venue is a bit remote, you might want to think about overnight accommodation or transport for your guests too. If it’s more centrally located, train times, car parks and local taxi numbers are more useful.

Decoration
Whether you are going for a specific theme or look, like industrial or boho, you might want to think about how you can decorate your venue If you have the budget and aren’t very artsy, you could consider hiring someone who specialises in decorating wedding venues. They’ll have lots of ideas, plus lots of beautiful props to help you spruce up your venue.
Flowers
Every bride should have a bouquet. Perhaps even the bridesmaids and flower girls too. You can pick your favourites and flowers are a great addition to the wedding photos.
Rings
These will be needed during the vows. It’s a lovely experience to go ring shopping with your husband or wife to be. Make a nice day of it and take your time looking around to see what ring you’d like to wear. After all the plan is to wear it for the rest of your life. There are many modern takes on classic designs you could take a look at, too (Foundoria has some great options).
Honeymoon
Once you’ve planned the wedding, you might want to plan a honeymoon. Whether that’s immediately after you’ve got married or maybe a couple of weeks later, it’s the best time to digest the day with your other half and laugh over all the funny bits. It’s also a good time to unwind after the madness that comes with planning a wedding, especially if you’ve had to plan a wedding a few times, due to it being postponed. Couples in Ontario may also want to consider a postnuptial agreement Ontario, which can be useful for protecting assets or clarifying financial matters after the wedding.
I hope you have a lovely wedding day and that it is everything you dreamt of. Congratulations!
